Sue Alice Hollier

Funeral Services will be held at a 3:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for Sue Alice Hollier, 60, who passed away on September 5, 2011 at 7:00 am at her residence. Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Paul Cemetery. Mrs. Hollier, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of Raywood Mayard and Wilda Veazey. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. A graduate of Abbeville High, Sue was a bookkeeper for many years until her illness. Sue was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother and was affectionately known as "Baba" to her grandchildren, whom she adored. She always had a kind word to share and loved spending time with her family. She will always be greatly admired for her courage throughout her long and difficult battle with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Raywood and Wilda Mayard of Esther, LA; one daughter, Jennifer Frick and her husband Brent of Lafayette, LA; one son, Raywood Stevens and his fianc'e Brittany Clostio of Kaplan, LA; two sisters, Mary Breaux and husband Patin of Lafayette, LA and Christine Theriot and her husband Bob of St. Martinville, LA; one brother, Joseph Mayard and his wife Felice of Abbeville; one grandson, Ian Frick; one grand-daughter, Sadie Sonnier; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Hollier; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Coralie Mayard; and her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Alice Veazey. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Wednesday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:15 pm in the funeral home Wednesday evening. Pallbearers will be Zachary Breaux, Brent Frick, Devin Guillory, Andrew Machen, Raywood Stevens, and Stanley Theriot.
