Suzanne Theriot Hebert

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 in St. Mary Mother of the Church, 419 Doucet Rd, Lafayette, LA for Suzanne T. Hebert, 93, the former Suzanne Theriot who died on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum in Lafayette. Rev. Cedric Sonnier, Pastor of St. Mary Mother of the Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Mrs. Hebert, the daughter of the late Lucien Theriot and the former Emerite Bijeaux was a native of Breaux Bridge for 18 years. She was born to a devout catholic couple, she was baptized one week later, communion and confirmation ten years later, and married at the age of seventeen. Suzanne moved to Lafayette in 1948 where she met & married Lloyd J. Hebert. Suzanne worked for Sears until 1982. She was a member of the St. Mary Ladies Altar Society. She was also active at Lafayette Senior Rosehouse, loved to exercise and participate in all kinds of games, had many friends there, never met a stranger, and always had a smile. Suzanne loved her flowers and gardening. She loved caring for the sick. Suzanne was a loving spouse, with her faith and her family as the most important things in her life. She loved to travel all over the United States, Canada, Hawaii, and the Caribbean Islands. She could cook, can and preserve any foods. Suzanne was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and godmother to four girls; she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Mary Mother of the Church on Saturday, March 29, 2025 beginning at 8:30 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning in the church. Visitation will continue, following the Rosary, until the time of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Joseph Hebert; parents, Lucien Theriot and Emerite Bijeaux Theriot; sisters, Anna Mae Theriot Angelle, Shirley Theriot Zeringue, Mae Theriot Angelle, and Yuline Theriot; and brothers, Harris Theriot and Russell Theriot. Survivors include her sisters, Anna Theriot (J. Roy) Bernard, Barbara Theriot (Ronnie) LeBlanc, and Judy Theriot (Adley) Douet; brother, Lee Roy (Verlie) Theriot; and numerous nieces & nephews.
