A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Thomas P. Dailey, 80, who passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence. Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Thomas, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the son of the late Harold Dailey and the former Thelma "Muddie" Romero Dailey. Tom was born on August 7, 1935, in New Iberia. He resided in Lafayette until 2002 and moved to Carencro where he remained till his passing. He graduated from Lafayette High School and shortly after, served in the Marines. He preceded his schooling to USL and graduated in business in 1961. Thereafter, he worked at Magnolia Marketing in Lafayette, while attending and graduating from Harvard Business School to become Executive Vice President of the company. He was chairman of Ducks Unlimited where he made great friends and met numerous political figures. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and “the padnas". He traveled the world, including Israel, most of Europe and especially enjoyed Cabo San Lucas to name a few. Because of his love of horses, he built a home at his farm in Carencro and raised his horses there for over three decades. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Dirk Dailey and wife Tina Dailey, and Dwayne Paul Dailey and wife Felicia Yockey Dailey; his four grandchildren, Dwayne Michael Dailey, Tiffany Lynn Dailey, Thomas Dirk Elson Dailey and Beck Lee Dailey; his siblings, Joan Dailey Comeaux, and husband Vernal Comeaux,; Donald Dailey, and wife Julie Calongne Dailey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Vicki Patrice Dailey, The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday August 22, 2105 from 8:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be Thomas Dirk Dailey, Dwayne Paul Dailey, Dwayne Michael Dailey, Thomas Dirk Elson Dailey, Beck Lee Dailey and Eddie Romero.
