Visitation will be held Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette for Vicki Schlimgen Wyatt, 59, who passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at her home in Carencro. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 5:30 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Interment will follow at Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa. There will be a Visitation Service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the Funeral. Father Rick Chenault, Pastor of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, will officiate. Vicki was born September 17, 1956 in Belleview, Nebraska. She was born into a military family, one of six children. She moved several times, making friends wherever she was. Vicki graduated from Hot Springs High School and studied Journalism/Theatre at Henderson State University. After moving to Carrollton, Alabama, she later met and married her husband of 29 years, Ronald Wyatt. Vicki and family moved to Lafayette and she began working at Foster Marketing in 2002, where she worked her way to the role of Vice President of Creative Services. Her balance of faith, family and work was mastered and evident through her vibrant spirit and warm smile. There is not a person that she has met, that cannot recall the experience, and honestly say that she failed to make an impression. Vicki enjoyed serving her church; especially teaching catechism for over a decade at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, LA. Vicki is survived by her husband, Ronald Wyatt of Carencro and four sons; Jason Wyatt (granddaughters Avery, Mary Grace, and Emma and wife, Stephanie), Nathan Wyatt (wife, Stacie), Nash Wyatt (grandson Riley Wyatt and fiancé Kristin Red), and Nicholas Wyatt; her mother, Marlys Schlimgen, and siblings Michael, Patrice, Terry, Gregory, and Scott, along with many loving nephews and nieces, and many friends and colleagues whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her father, David Schlimgen. Pallbearers will be her three sons and four brothers. Vicki never wanted her death to be mourned, but instead, celebrated. To quote George Harrison, “Here comes the sun, it's alright.” May every sunny day serve as a reminder of the joyous life of Vicki Wyatt.
