Wilbert Klumpp

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Wilbert 'Willie' Klumpp, 76, who went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at American Legion Hospital in Jennings from complications due to pneumonia. Reverend Todd Menard, Pastor of Family Life Christian Fellowship, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Klumpp was born on December 29, 1930. He was a native of Basile and resident of Lafayette and was the son of the late Jacob Klumpp and the former Agnes Newman. He was a Veteran in the United States Navy having served in Korea on the USS Dixie and the USS Kearsarge from 1948 until 1951 before being honorably discharged. Everybody knows Willie. His faith in God was infinite. He was the most inspiring father to three children and did an amazing job raising them. He was an avid mechanic, who used his wonderful mind on the most creative projects and inventions. He was both friend and Paw-Paw when it came to his grandchildren. He loved them all in a different way but all just as much. When he made sno-cones, his passion for life was evident. His yard was always trimmed perfectly, his shop floor always clean, and his heart and soul as pure as the water he drank. We all learned something from his uncanny wit and humor. He is survived by two sons, Glen Klump and wife, Antoinette, and Kevin Klump and wife, Sheri; one daughter, Linda Henthorn; two sisters, Ida Deshotel, and Christina Hill; ten grandchildren, Jason Klump, Justin Klump, Tara Klump, Ryan Klump, Lauren Henthorn, Lindsey Henthorn, Logan Henthorn, Emily Klump, Tyler Frederick, and Connor Klump; and one great grandchild, Grace Kidd. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Grace Kelly Klumpp. She went ahead to prepare a place for him in Heaven on May 21, 2001. May they both rest in Heaven in as much peace as they brought to us on Earth. His parents, and two sons, Steven and Jeffery, also preceded him in death.
