Wilma Regan

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Wilma Zaunbrecher Regan, 86, who passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Wilma was born to a German farming family in Crowley, LA. She married Huey in 1950 and made their home in Lafayette. She was a loving wife and mother, who devoted her life to raising her children, one of whom was physically challenged. Her joy continued through the births of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wilma was inspired by music and nature, extremely proud of her German heritage and her love of the Roman Catholic Church. Wilma was a true servant of God and lived humbly while instilling the Christian values through daily examples of always "Making It Good" in every situation. Throughout her life, she often reminded family that when all hope was gone, faith in Jesus Christ would carry us through. She offered many prayers for those in need and shared her love of God through a neighborhood Rosary Group, teaching Catechism and volunteering for various charities. Her beautiful smile that radiated from her selfless heart will be greatly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Huey P. Regan, Sr.; two daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" Comeaux and her husband Glenn and Becky Managan and her companion Dale Langford; six grandchildren, Erika Comeaux, Emily Comeaux and her fiance Tommy Hebert, Aimee M. Pizza and her husband Jason, Michael Edgar, Tara Managan and Dr. Laura Managan and her husband Scott Schilling; six great grandchildren, Avery Comeaux, Kori Beth Greenwood and Louis, Nicholas, Natalie and Regan Pizza; three sisters, Clarice Lejeune, Mary Jo Foreman (Carl) and Wanda Launey (Shelton); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Randal Regan and Patrick Regan; her parents, Nicholas and Josephine Cramer Zaunbrecher; two brothers, William "Willie" Zaunbrecher and Otto Zaunbrecher; and one sister, Elaine Z. Leger. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Glenn Comeaux, Dale Langford, Steven Leger, Scott Schilling, Chris Foreman and Tommy Hebert. Honorary Pallbearer Jason Pizza. The family would like to thank Dr. Lester Ducote, Heart of Hospice and her loving caregivers, Eva Delle Broussard, Gale Dore, Debra LeBlanc and Frankie Broussard.
