Amelia Green Hoffman

February 3, 1959 - November 20, 2021

Amelia Green Hoffman, a long-time resident of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2021 at the age of 62. Amelia was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on February 3, 1959. Her family moved to Lafayette in 1970, where she lived until her death. She graduated from Acadiana High School in 1977, received a degree in nursing from Acadiana Technical School, and was an LPN at Women's & Children's Hospital until November of 2020. She and Thomas "Tom" Hoffman, Jr. were married December 14, 1991 and welcomed two children, Spencer and Hannah. Her family was her world! Amelia loved family camping vacations to West Virginia and beach vacations to South Carolina. She enjoyed monthly Pokeno nights with her long-time group. She was an active parent volunteer with the Asbury United Methodist Church's youth group Wednesday Night Way gatherings and mission trips for many years. Always up for a festival, she loved going to Downtown Alive, Festival International de Louisiane, Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, and of course Mardi Gras! She and Tom spent most Saturdays at the Farmer's Market at The Horse Farm with their dog Hondo. Amelia is predeceased by her parents Tommy and Betty Green and mother-in-law Myrna Hoffman. She is survived by her husband Tom, son Spencer, daughter Hannah, dog Hondo, and granddog Remy. She is also survived by her sisters Melissa (Missi) Green, Sarah Green LaBorde and her husband Stephen LaBorde, brother Scott Green and his partner Rusty Mellette, father-in-law Thomas Hoffman, Sr. and his wife Maureen Hoffman, sister-in-law Connie Scott, and brother-in-law Robert Bronstein, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Amelia's kind-loving heart, love of laughter, and bright smile will be missed by everyone who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church on January the 15th at 11:00AM. Personal condolences can be sent to the Hoffman family at delhommefuneralhome.com. Donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Amelia Green Hoffman and her family were cared for and entrusted final arrangements to Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA.
