Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Bertha Trahan Broussard, 97, who passed away on March 21, 2022. Reverend William Schambough, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Bertha was a devout Catholic and always the life of the party. Where there wasn’t a party, she created one! Bertha was a Mardi Gras enthusiast. She was a Louisiana Codofil Ambassador to the Country of France. Bertha was founding member of the Krewe de Canailles and a world-renowned Zydeco dancer. Mrs. Broussard, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Leodias Trahan and the former Evelina Wingate. She is survived by her two sons, Wally Broussard and wife, Sylvia, and Troy Broussard and wife, Kathy; seven grandchildren, Tania Mincey and husband, Joel, Kristi, Joshua, Christopher, Caleb Broussard and wife, Macey, Timothy, and Grayson; step grandson, Brent Rome, Jr. and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isaac Broussard; brother, Aaron Trahan, and sister, Vernice "Nope" Trahan. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of service. Pallbearers will be Joel Mincey, William Caffy, Joshua Broussard, Christopher Broussard, Caleb Broussard, Timothy Broussard, Grayson Broussard, and Brent Rome, Jr. Personal condolences may be sent to the Broussard family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com.
