January 12, 1939 - July 26, 2021
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday August 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive for Camille Floyd Sellers, 82, who passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette from a condition unrelated to COVID-19. The Sellers family requests that a Face Mask be worn. Floyd was a native of Cow Island, LA and attended E. Broussard High School where he was on the Basketball Team and received a Letter Award. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. While stationed at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA he met and married in January 1960 the love of his life, Joy Willis. In 1961, Floyd was Honorably Discharged from the U. S. Air Force; he, Joy, and their first-born daughter then moved to Lafayette where they continued to grow their family. Floyd was employed by Borden Dairy Company. He worked as a Home Delivery Route Man, a Route Man Supervisor, and finally the Safety Coordinator. After 34 years he retired and kept busy with all of the “Honey Do Lists” and visiting his Mother daily. Floyd was a kind, gentle-spirited man, a loving husband and father who always had a smile on his face. He loved to fish, tend his garden, occasionally go hunting; he repaired anything that needed fixing, loved spending time in McNary/Glenmora, LA (his Heaven on Earth), dancing, and he was an excellent cook. When Floyd cooked a Gumbo everybody showed up to eat! At any party, Ball, or music event you’d find Floyd on the dance floor with his wife, at a Borden Christmas Party his “dance card” was always full! Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joy Willis Sellers; one son, Robert A. Sellers (Jamie Short and her daughter, Coral Arsemant); two daughters, Rima S. Duhon and Susan Sellers, all of Lafayette. Three Grandchildren are Christopher Sellers (Sheree Leblanc); Lauren Sellers Carreno (Eddie); and Robert A. Sellers II, all of Lafayette. Four Great Grandchildren are Morgan, Sydni, and Avery Sellers, and Lilah Carreno, all of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Sellers and Ematile Lemaire Sellers; one sister, Lucie Sellers; Seven brothers; Henry Dewey Sellers, Jessie J. Sellers, Emile Wilmer Sellers, Remy Sellers, A. Joseph “Joe” Sellers, John W. Sellers, and George C. Sellers; as well as several nephews.
