Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Claude Henry Patin, 93, who passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. Fr. David Hebert, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Patin, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Albert Patin and the former Lucille Robertson. A proud graduate of Cecilia High, Class of 1945, Claude was immediately drafted in the Army for WWII. Following his service, Claude married his first wife, Pearl, and together they raised a family in Lafayette. He worked at Gulf States Utilities, now Entergy, for 35 years, whereupon Claude enjoyed another 35 years of retirement. Claude enjoyed telling stories, from his time guarding German POWs to his childhood fishing stories with his older brothers. He loved camping, fishing, trawling, hunting and cooking for the family. Claude spent his last few months under the care of his great-granddaughter, Kyla, and special visits from his only grandson, Korrey. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his daughters, Lynda P. Zeringue (Anthony) and Audrey P. LeBlanc; sons, Leonard J. Patin (Pamela), Leland A. Patin (Wanda) and Mark S. Patin; grandchildren, Rachel Higginbotham (Shane), Andrea Degeyter (Monica), Lynette Degeytaire (Ryan), Lori Fontenot (Josh Gardemal), Korrey Patin (Terie), Kasey Patin-DeCuir (Brandon) and Sarah Meyer (Cody); great-grandchildren, Jamie Thibodeaux, Shane Higginbotham Jr, Chanse Higginbotham, Chase Higginbotham, Jace Smith, Kyla S. Johnson (Joshua), Haley Fontenot, Landon Degeytaire, Tre' Naquin, Katie Naquin, Lola Fontenot, Addison Degeytaire, Alivia Patin, Kason Patin, Liam Gardemal and Kohen Meyer; great-great-grandchildren, Levi Carter Smith and Allen-Francis Anthony "AJ" Johnson; and close friend, Nellie Arabie. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Pearl Zeringue Patin; second wife, Thelma Breaux Patin; parents, Albert and Lucille Patin; sisters, Ann Patin Catalino, Laurence Patin and Edith Patin; brothers, O'Neal Patin, Dewey Patin, Thomas Patin, Gaston Patin, Dave Patin, Whitley Patin, Andrew Patin and Harry Patin; and his canine companions, "Topsey" and "Sweetie". The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Leonard Patin, Leland Patin, Mark Patin, Korrey Patin, Ken David Zeringue and Greg Patin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon Degeytaire, Tre' Naquin, Kason Patin, Kohen Meyer, Liam Gardemal, "AJ" Johnson and Joshua Johnson.
