Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Delhomme Funeral Home's Chapel in Scott for Donna C. Debarbieris, 56, who lost the battle with cancer but gained the kingdom on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:36 PM, surrounded by family and friends at The Calcutta House by Hospice of Acadiana. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM at: Cooper Cemetery, 25150 Cooper Cemetery Road, Ponchatoula, La. 70454 Reverend Luther Burney of First Baptist Church of Lafayette will conduct the funeral services. Donna was born on February 15, 1966, in New Orleans, La. to Fred and Martha Chenault. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1984 and went on to complete her studies at Delgado Community College. She was a resident of Lafayette for the past 17 years. She was a Disney Travel Agent for the past 8 years. Donna and her family had a special love for Disney, and it was her happy place. She volunteered for many years at St. Genevieve Catholic School and was awarded Supporter of the Year. Donna was the type of person who put everyone’s needs before her own. She was truly one of a kind. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Donna will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years Ray Debarbieris of Lafayette, the light of her eyes her children Eric and Emily Debarbieris both of Lafayette, La.; her parents, Fred and Martha Chenault of Hammond; her sister Kristine Viverito and husband Donald and children Tyler, Victoria and Quintin of Hammond; her sisters and brothers in laws, Don Debarbieris and wife JoJo, Debbie Fernandez, Glenn Debarbieris and wife Debbie, Gary Debarbieris and wife Debbie, Keith Debarbieris and wife Kathy, Scott Debarbieris, Linda Mitchell and husband Robert, Ann Domingue, Gail Carlisle, Sandra Gremillion and husband Mark, Janet Melton and husband Chris, and Cindy Brown and husband Robert “Peanut”; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Grace and Everette Shelton, paternal grandparents Lila and George Chenault. Pallbearers will be Donald Viverito, Tyler Chenault, Mark Gremillion, Sr., Chris Melton, Robert “Peanut” Brown, Mark Gremillion, Jr., and Austin Carlisle. Donna’s family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 8:00 AM until time of services.
