George Burton Lambert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, June 17, 2022 in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for George Burton Lambert, 84, who passed away on June 11, 2022 at his residence. Rev. Msgr. Jefferson J. DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Inurnment will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Mr. George, a long-time resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late George Anthony Lambert and the former Mamie Marshall. In 1969, he and his wife co-founded George's Lift Truck Service, Inc with the iconic gorilla statue. For 38 years, George and Joyce ran a very successful business, which they turned over to their children in 2007. Upon retiring, he enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, and fishing with his wife. An avid hunter and gardener, George enjoyed time spent outdoors. A loving father and grandfather, George always took the time to assist others and give helpful advice. He will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Mae Bernard Lambert; daughters, Sharon L. Ardoin (Tommy), Gwen L. Fury (Keith), and Penny L. Lambert (Mike Brown); grandchildren, Brent Hulin (Mariah), Drake Hulin (Heather), Justin Prioux, and Ryan Duhon; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Hulin, Isabella Hulin, Flynn Hulin, Emmilou Prioux, and Kaysin Hulin. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mamie Lambert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 PM on Friday afternoon in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ardoin, Brent Hulin, Drake Hulin, Luke Tristani, Gordon Scallan, and Jason Bernard. The family would like to thank Katie, with Hospice of Acadiana, for the compassionate care she provided.
