Gloria "Sue" Louise Lanerie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 23, 2022 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Gloria "Sue" Louise Lanerie, 84, who passed away on May 17, 2022. Pastor Todd Menard will conduct the funeral service. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Gloria had a gentle spirit, infectious laugh, and loving personality. She was the best maw maw and old maw maw to her great grandchildren. Gloria was an amazing role model and will be greatly missed. Gloria, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Euphis Goulas and the former Solita Trahan. She is survived by her children, Janet Richard and husband, George of Greensboro, NC, Wayne Lanerie of Mena, AR, Karen Lynn Hollier and husband, Steven of Cankton, LA, and Mary Ann LaBorde and husband, Jeff of Gainesville, GA; sister, Brenda Goulas Bonin, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivy Lanerie; children, Dennis Lanerie, Jeanne Clark, and Lisa Bourque; siblings, Mary Jane Kidder, Helen Trahan, Raymond Goulas, Charles Goulas, and Donald Goulas; grandson, Nathan Bourque, and great great granddaughter, Ja'Dayah D'nae Simmons. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana and Dr. Lauren Zatarain for their love, support, and compassion. Pallbearers will be Thomas Richard, Daniel Richard, Tobias Clark, Justin Lanerie, Jeff LaBorde, and George Richard. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wayne Lanerie.
