Gwendolyn David Williams
March 2, 1946 - March 29, 2021
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, for Gwen David Williams (1946-2021), who passed away on March 29 surrounded by her daughters, who take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, Ray. She is survived by her three daughters, Shannan Williams Dillingham and her husband, Walter, of Arden, NC; Michelle Williams and Jon Alleman of Lafayette, LA and Jennifer Williams Prince and her husband, Todd, of Southlake, TX. She was proud to be Maw Maw to Lindsey Prejean Philion, Stephanie “Fred” Prejean, Buddy Dillingham of North Carolina and Brice Prince of Texas. She was blessed to be Maw Maw Willie to great-grandsons, Avery and Callen Philion of North Carolina. Gwen worked most of her career as a Registered Nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes. After retirement, she embraced her passion for travel with both family and friends. This allowed her to collect yarn world-wide to indulge her love of knitting. Mom was known for her cooking skills, always making sure your favorite meal was waiting for you when you came to visit. She was also a long-time member of the Hibiscus and Orchid Societies of Acadiana. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring her years of service as a Healthcare Worker by making a donation to your local blood bank. Special thanks to Mary Ann Dixon and Yvette Moore for your support, strength and love. Family isn’t always blood. Mom, we have your bag of buttons on the table and the Bourré hands have been dealt. Now, what was trumps again? Personal condolences may be sent to the Williams Family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
