A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, in St. Basil Catholic Church for John Voorhies "J.V." LeBlanc Jr., 85, who passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020. Fr. Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Basil Catholic Cemetery. "J.V.", a resident of Judice, was the son of the late John V. LeBlanc Sr. and the former Colastie Richard. He was a life-long servant of the Judice-Lafayette community in many aspects, from volunteering at the Judice Fire Department to helping build St. Basil Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lois LeJeune LeBlanc; grandchildren, Rikki LeBlanc and Jeremiah LeBlanc (Tracie); and great-grandchildren, Andrew & Alexis LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his sons, Rickie and Randall LeBlanc; parents, John and Colastie LeBlanc; and brother, Kearney LeBlanc. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM on Wednesday morning in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah LeBlanc, Garret LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Peter Lavergne, Bryan Savoy and Justin Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan Guidry, Harrison Savoy and Andrew Savoy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to the Judice Fire Department and Hospice of Acadiana.
