Jeanette Genevieve Mouton O'Brien

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022 in Delhomme Funeral Home's Chapel of the Flowers for Jeanette Genevieve Mouton O'Brien, 83, known affectionately to family as "Nett", who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Deacon Menard will conduct the funeral services. Max LaBry, accompanied by Dixie D'Amelio, will sing for the services. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Jeanette Genevieve Mouton was born on July 31, 1938 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Jeanette graduated from Lafayette High School in 1956 and Louisiana School of Beauty in 1957. She married LeRoy and was a stay at home mom to her four daughters, both of them attending all of the kids' and grandkids' dance recitals, ball games, and any activities in which they were involved. She captured videos of everything and was the ultimate organizer, with the ability to remember the smallest details of everything. She never missed a chance to dance with her beloved husband and it became a family tradition to be the "first ones there and last ones to leave". She enjoyed gardening, sewing, flea marketing, refinishing furniture, and cooking for her family. She leaves behind four daughters, Cindy O'Brien LaBry (Max) of DeQuincy, Louisiana, Patti O'Brien Roy (John) of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Gingi O'Brien-Lockhart (Scott) of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Heidi O'Brien D'Amelio (Marc) of Los Angeles, California; her grandchildren, Shelbi Roy Pryor (Myles), Spencer Roy (Tonya), Lukas LaBry, Harli Lockhart, Darbi Lockhart, Dixie D'Amelio, and Charli D'Amelio; three great grandchildren, Sunni, Wyatt and Hayes Pryor; two nieces, Norma Laque Schexnailder (Maurice) and Lea Laque Hulin (Faren), and one nephew, Jerry Breaux (Nichole). She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, LeRoy O'Brien and by her parents Ursin and Louise Mouton. Pallbearers will be Max LaBry, John Roy, Scott Lockhart, Marc D'Amelio, Lukas LaBry, and Spencer Roy. The family requests that visitation be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home Bertrand Drive location on Thursday, March 17, 2022 beginning at 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 8:00 AM until time of services. Jeanette and the family wanted to thank those special people who went out of their way to check on her and to care for her during her final days - Dion and Kirk Briley, Geneva Breaux, Lorita and Boo Menard, Alonda Guilbeau, and Sandy Kidder. The family is extremely grateful for the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana for all of their help and support during Mom's journey and for always answering her questions.
