Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Family Life Church for Kris Lee Gumpert, 57, who passed away on March 22, 2022 at his residence. Reverend Rob Miller and Teaching & Missions Pastor Todd Menard will conduct the Memorial services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Kris Lee Gumpert was born to parents Carl and Louella Gumpert, on May 26, 1964 in Lafayette, LA. He graduated from Lafayette High School and later went to University of Southwestern Louisiana for a few years, starting a family shortly after. Kris was known for his love of the outdoors and people. Whether it was fishing, water skiing, or BBQing, he inflicted his love of the outdoors on all who knew him. He felt most connected to family when boating at Old River and working on boats. Kris also knew no stranger, welcoming all with opened arms. He always aimed to make people feel welcome in his life, whether that was inviting others to a family BBQ, offering to cut a neighbor’s grass, or helping someone walk through a hard time. Kris would often go above and beyond for anyone he met. Kris was known by many as their favorite mechanic/handyman, but if you asked him, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his career or even his possessions. It was being a father to his three children and grandfather to his five grandchildren. He was tirelessly devoted to his friends and family which he was very proud of and loved dearly. Kris was always there for them through their ups and downs, and always sought to teach them to enjoy each moment life has to offer. Kris, a resident of Youngsville, was the son of the late Carl A. Gumpert, Sr. and the former Louella Perry. He is survived by his children, Kristopher Gumpert and wife, Anna, Brandon Gumpert, and Victoria Gumpert and fiancé, Hunter Guidry; grandchildren, Ava Gumpert, Stella Gumpert, Everleigh Gumpert, Weslee Guidry, and Waylan Guidry; siblings, Carl Gumpert, Jr. and wife, Tammy, Paul Gumpert and wife, Felecia, Elizabeth Mitchell and husband, Joe and one sister-in-law, Laury Gumpert. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John Gumpert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Family Life Church on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Also, flowers can be sent to Family Life Church at 2223 Dulles Dr., Lafayette, Louisiana. Personal condolences may be sent to the Gumpert family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com. Kris Lee Gumpert and his family were cared for and entrusted final arrangements to Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA.
