Lance Steven Kimball Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Lance Steven Kimball, 87, who passed away on May 20, 2022. Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Lance served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired educator with 30 years in the Lafayette Parish School System and 10 years with Teurlings Catholic High School. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and served 8 years as a Lafayette Parish Police Juror. Mr. Kimball was a passionate teacher to his students and his family. Mr. Kimball, a resident of Scott/Lafayette, was the son of the late Oliver Kimball and the former Teresa Ardoin. He is survived by his wife, Irma Jean Kimball; children, Rene Charpentier and husband, Rene J., and Kyle Steven Kimball and wife, Faith; grandchildren, Kristy Bienvenu and Brooke Roberts; great grandchildren, Chesney Hebert, Adelynne and Raimey Bienvenu, Carter, Camren Roberts, and Briggs Anthony Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marjorie Reed Kimball; brothers, Neilus, Hanley, LeRoy, and Myron Kimball, and sisters, Thelma Stage, Grace Triola, and Wilda Hairford. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Pallbearers will be Rene Charpentier, Charles Bienvenu, Matt Roberts, Paul Kimball, Carter and Camren Roberts. The family would like to thank the staffs of Pelican Pointe and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care. In addition, they would like to thank Mr. Wilfred Williams for his special friendship. Also, thanks to all of his former students and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers.
