A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Linda Anne Barras Laperouse, 80, who passed away on December 21, 2021. Fr. Hampton Davis, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Linda, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Milton "Red" Barras and the former Pauline Lytal. She was a devoted wife to the love of her life, “Kani”. A loving mother, adoring grandmother, and a wonderful sister, "Honey", as she was affectionately known, spent her life taking care of her family. Honey loved cooking, gardening, traveling, and playing cards with her friends. She taught her children and grandchildren how to love unconditionally because family was everything to her. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Expadie Laperouse Jr.; daughters, Stephanie L. Stevenson (William), Charlotte L. Segura (Paul), Kristine Laperouse, and Danielle L. Farris (Chad); sons, Expadie Laperouse III (Paige) and Patrick Laperouse (Jenny); grandchildren, William Stevenson IV (Hailey), Andrew Stevenson (Michelle), Matthew Stevenson, Joshua Stevenson, Lynden Segura, Hunter James, Kourtney Blackwell, Katherine Blackwell, Dylan Blackwell, Camille Farris, Jake Farris, Graham Farris, Caroline Farris, Expadie Laperouse IV, Julia Laperouse, Madeline Laperouse, Grace Laperouse, Olivia Laperouse, and Nicholas Laperouse; great-grandsons, Liam Stevenson and Landon Stevenson; sister, Renée B. Hebert (Randy); brother, Christopher Barras (Kathy); sister-in-law, Laurence A. Barras. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Farris; parents, Milton and Pauline Barras; sister, Diane B. Jacobs; and brother, Michael A. Barras. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, December 23, 2021 beginning at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Thursday afternoon in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue following the Rosary until 12:45 PM. Pallbearers will be William Stevenson IV, Andrew Stevenson, Matthew Stevenson, Joshua Stevenson, Lynden Segura, Hunter James, Expadie Laperouse IV, Dylan Blackwell, and Jake Farris. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Paula Courville, Monique Chautin, and Lee Delfrey, and all the medical staff involved with her care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Linda Laperouse to the Carmelite Monastery at 1250 Carmel Dr., Lafayette, LA 70501.
