Marliene Mire Bellard

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Marliene Mire Bellard, 79, who passed away on January 13, 2021. Marliene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening and cooking Sunday lunch for her family. She is most remembered for giving her time helping others in need. Reverend Joshua Guillory, will serve as Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Marliene, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Theotis Mire and the former Mary Martin. She is survived by her children, Shelia (David) Beasley, Valarie Hernandez, Steven (Ronta) Bellard, Zelda (Louis) Lantier, and Troy (Christy) Bellard; grandchildren, Daniel Beasley, Ashlie (Ross) Comeaux, Crystal (Benny) Richard, Nicholas Lantier, Victoria Hernandez, and Jolie Bellard; great grandchildren, Reagan Broussard, Emma Broussard, Bennett Richard, Cypress Richard, and Jude Comeaux; three sisters, Ethel (Robert)Young, Carline (Jerry) Fontenot, and Barbara (James) Lejeune, and her brothers-in-law, Regnal (Frieda) Bellard and Earl McFarlain. She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Ludden Bellard; sister, Zula McFarlain and two brothers-in-law, Walgene and Raanol Bellard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Sunday, January 17, 2021, from 9:00 AM until to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Paul Matte at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Steven Bellard, Troy Bellard, Daniel Beasley, Nicholas Lantier, Darrell Young, and Todd Fontenot. Honorary Pallbearers will be Regnal Bellard, Ross Comeaux, and Bennett Richard.
