Michelle Renee Lakhotia Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The Celebration of Life of Michelle Lakhotia, forever 29 years old, will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 2, 2022 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand Drive. Michelle tragically passed away at her home in New Orleans on June 28, 2022. Prior to living in New Orleans, Michelle was a resident of Lafayette. If one were to define Michelle in words, one would say she was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, dog mom, teacher, marathon runner. But those words do not capture Michelle, as no words can. Those who knew Michelle describe her as a person full of life. Those who have met her will remember as the strongest woman they have ever met. Those who have had the benefit of being taught by her will remember a teacher who changed the trajectory of their lives forever. Those in her family will remember her as proof that anything is possible and will brag about the most incredible spirit that has ever walked this earth. She went like a whirlwind every single day for forty years, waking up before 4:00am and running for at least two hours and often five hours before getting her day started. While the family is heartbroken that she had to leave so early, they know that she is being well received by Ozzy, Keiko, and her other fur babies on the rainbow bridge. She is survived by her husband, Arun Lakhotia; children, Monisha Lakhotia, Abhimanyu Lakhotia, and Manjistha Lakhotia; mother, Barbara Stutes and husband, Ronnie; siblings, John Searles and spouse, Ben Finley, and Kim Alleman and husband, Jessie as well as her fur babies, Uno and Ella. She was preceded in death by her father, and her fur babies, Cush-Cush, Ozzie, Julie, Keiko, Spicy, Bandit, Rollie, and Bear. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM.
