Mildred "Millie" Price Machacek Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers - Bertrand for Mildred "Millie” Price Machacek, 92, who passed away on May 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Deacon Nelson Schexnayder will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Mausoleum. Millie enjoyed bowling, casinos, pokeno, QVC shopping, camping, cooking, and spending time with and caring for her family and friends. Millie loved life and her family. Giving was like saying hello to her, it came so easy. A strong woman that clearly amazed everyone till the end. Loving her was so easy as she had the biggest heart that pulled you close. Funny was an understatement because no one left her presence without laughing so much. Nothing ever stopped her from giving out the best hugs. She left behind a whole lot of things because she could never throw away even the simplest bread tie. Our beautiful mother/grandmother may have left us but if you ever feel a sudden squeeze of your hand, it’s her never wanting to say goodbye. Fly high with eagles above, no one will ever replace you as our amazing gracious Mother/Grandmother. If a flower petal just so happens to fall from heaven, we will know it’s you in the garden of life. Mrs. Machacek, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Sidney Price and the former Adeline Deroche. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Sonnier (Allen), and Sharon Howes; grandchildren, Timothy Sonnier (Monica), Chad Sonnier (Jill), John Sonnier (Belinda), Aimee Howes (Bryan), and Danielle Howes (Cody); 17 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; siblings, Geraldine Pack, and Terry Price. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William J. Machacek; son, William "Bubba" Machacek, and 4 brothers and sisters. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited by Dianne Credeur at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening. Visiting hours will continue Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. The singer will be Bailyn Pennington and pianist, Kamryn Bourque. Pallbearers will be Chad Sonnier, Josh Sonnier, Keith Credeur, Bryan Babin, Cody Comeaux, and Kai Comeaux.
