Nicholas "Nick" Sampsell

July 22, 1980 - October 13, 2020

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 16, 2020, for Nicholas "Nick" James Sampsell, 40, who passed away on October 13, 2020 at his home. Deacon Cody Miller will conduct the funeral service. Nick, a resident of Sunset, was the son of the late James Sampsell and the former Deborah Voorhies. Born and raised in Lafayette, Nick graduated Lafayette High School, Class of 1998. Nick went into HVAC soon after high school, traveling as far as St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Saints and LSU. Nick loved his family, especially his mother, his "MeeMaw" and his "PawPaw". He will be sorely missed by family and friend alike. He is survived by his mother, Deborah V. Clothier (Don); sister, Olivia Sampsell; nephew, Henri Cox; maternal grandparents, Maxine and Gordon Perkins; and grandfather, Steve Voorhies; He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Sampsell; and his paternal grandparents, Connie and James Sampsell. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. The family would like thank LOPA for their considerate and compassionate care in honoring Nick's wishes to help others in his passing.
