Perry Lynn Stirling Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette for Perry Lynn Stirling, who passed away peacefully on June 22, 2022, at his son’s home after a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his children, Michael L. Stirling, Cara K. Stirling, Alexander "Alex" C. Stirling, and Jacob A. Stirling; sister, Elette S. Meaux (John); brother, Alexander "Al" R. Stirling III (Kaye); the mothers of his children, Angela Muller Tauzin and Maggie Toca Stirling. He also leaves behind a lively band of friends from Louisiana to Florida. Perry returned to Lafayette, Louisiana from Panama City, Florida approximately a year ago with the intention of winning his battle against cancer. He put his thriving career with Legendary Marine on hold and spent his time with his children. Although he eventually lost the battle, he greatly enjoyed the family time that his illness provided him. Perry started his marine career at his family’s business, Alex Stirling’s Marine in Lafayette where he learned his trade from the ground up for almost 30 years. He carried on in the boat industry which took him to some of the prettiest cities in Florida. He landed in Panama City, Florida where he proudly worked for Legendary Marine for the remainder of his life. He is remembered fondly by many boating enthusiasts along the Gulf Coast. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Mary Louise Perry Stirling. The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana for the incredible support and guidance provided to Perry and his children through this difficult period. Special thanks also goes out to Judy, Thelma, Angela & Vickey for their caring devotion and kindness to Perry. Visitation will be at Delhomme Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM on Monday, June 27, 2022 with a Rosary prayed at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Perry’s name to Miles Perret Cancer Services, which is a haven for individuals and families fighting, surviving, and living with cancer.
