Rosie was born on January 2, 1965 in Lafayette, LA, to Charles Francis McDuff Sr. and Esther Lewis McDuff. Rosie was the baby in a family with three older brothers. When a baby girl finally came along, she was the light of her parent’s life. Rosie spent the majority of her life in Lafayette, LA, attending high school at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Lafayette High and later attending college at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Rosie was a very loving and compassionate person. She had the most beautiful smile that would light up your soul. She was quick to laugh and always found humor in life. She was a great cook and homemaker. Rosie spent the last nine years of her life living with, and providing care for, her mother Esther. She was a selfless person and considered it her privilege to do so. She was the most dedicated and devoted daughter any parent could have ever asked for. Rosie loved her family more than anything in the world. She was so happy when she could get together with her friends and family, laughing and telling stories. Rosie was also an avid beagle lover and considered them as part of her family. Rosie was a dedicated wife to her husband, Tim Derryberry, and lovingly adored her children, Katherine and Timothy. They were her world. Rosie was a wonderful mother and wife, doing everything possible for her family. We will always remember her infectious smile, beautiful blue eyes and caring personality. When you think of Rosie, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile, short, and should be lived to the fullest. Words cannot begin to describe how deeply she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Rosie is survived by her husband, Tim Derryberry; her loving children, Katherine Norris and Timothy Derryberry; her brothers Charles F. McDuff, Jr (Faye), Joseph H. McDuff (Lisa), and William S. McDuff (Emily); and numerous cousins, nieces, great nieces & friends.
