A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 13, 2021 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Broussard for Ruth Olivier Breaux, 91, who passed away peacefully on December 9, 2021 at her residence. Rev. Fr. Michael Delcambre, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Inurnment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery of Broussard at a later date. Mrs. Ruth, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Rene Olivier and the former Noelie Taylor. She was a proud member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Choir and "Sound Waves" Chorus. She loved sewing, cooking, and dancing. Known as the "cat-lady" of her subdivision, Ruth embodied a compassionate heart; she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Keith L. Breaux, Michelle B. Mayronne, Kevin J. Breaux, and Bonnie M. Breaux Hurst; grandchildren, Lauren E. Breaux, Andrew Breaux, Laine E. Mayronne, Bryson J. Mayronne, Ian M. Mayronne, Bradley G. Mayronne, Kaitlynn E. Breaux, Adam F. Breaux, Billy B. Hurst, Candace E. Hurst, Amanda A. Sprouse, and Mason J. Hurst; great-grandchildren, Amelia G. Harper, Kaydence E. Hurst, Cameron M. Guidry, Alaina A. Guidry, Audrey Harper, Aiden Hurst, Zachary Hurst, Ella Kate Hurst, Billy Bruce "Tripp" Hurst, Asher Belmar, Hollis Lake Henry, Ellis Joseph Mayronne, and Olivia Breaux. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Louis J. V. Breaux Jr; parents, Rene and Noelie Olivier; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Breaux; and many other dearly loved ones. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Broussard on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Monday, December 13, 2021 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Bryson Mayronne, Ian Mayronne, Bradley Mayronne, Andrew Breaux, Mason Hurst, Billy Hurst, and Adam Breaux. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Anthony "Tony" Billeaud. Special thanks to Tony and Tanya Billeaud, her neighbors, for the compassionate care they provided and for loving her as their own mother.
