Vernice Menard Touchet

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice for Vernice Menard Touchet, 95, who passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022 at Assisted Living at Camelot of Broussard. Rev. Fr. Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Maurice and Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Leroy, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Mrs. Touchet, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Clebert Menard and the former Angelle Hebert. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Touchet Vincent and Annette Touchet Burns (Richard); son, Herman J. Touchet; grandchildren, Angela Trahan (Ricky), Shane Vincent (Vickie), Christopher Vincent (Laurie), Tammy Touchet (Craig), Chastity Navarre (John), Dwanna Touchet (Nancy), Jessica Skipper (Malcolm), Dole Vincent (Patricia), Donie Touchet, Ike Navarre, Kristi Johnson (Jeremy), and Lindsay Touchet; daughter-in-law, Valerie Hartley Touchet; 21 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Dolze Touchet; son, Terry James Touchet; parents, Clebert and Angelle Menard; three sisters and three brothers; and daughter-in-law, Mary Sonnier Touchet. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 8:30 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Shane Vincent, Christopher Vincent, Dole Vincent, Koi Westbrook, Christian Vincent and Nelson Trahan. The family would like to thank all the staff at Camelot of Broussard, especially her caregivers, Dodie and Wendy. Also, a special thanks to her sitter, Bricelyn Hanks, for the compassionate care she provided Mrs. Vernice.
