Adam Thibodeaux

Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for Adam Thibodeaux, 91, who passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Readers will be Mark Mouton and Jonathan Thibodeaux. Giftbearers will be Mary Ann Mouton and Aline Menard. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Mr. Thibodeaux, a native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Broussard, was the son of the late Arthur Thibodeaux and the former Aspazie Duhon both of Vermilion Parish. He was a retired Carpenter with over 20 years at Trappey's. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Adam was affectionately known as 'Nonc Adam' to all who knew him in Broussard, where he lived with his loving Marie for 67 years. He was a hard working, self made man who loved hunting, gardening, raising dogs and had many farm animals. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Mouton of Lafayette, Bernice Thibodeaux of Lafayette, and Aline Menard of Broussard; three sons, Harold Thibodeaux of California, Philip Thibdodeaux of Broussard, and Adam J. Thibodeaux of Lafayette; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Marie J. Dupuis; and one brother, Willis Thibdodeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Thibodeaux; two sisters, Etta Gary, and Hortense Guilbeau; and four brothers, Felix Thibodeaux, Belus Thibodeaux, Jean Thibodeaux, and Paul 'Long' Thibodeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue Thursday from 8:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Adam J. Thibodeaux, Daniel Menard, Ryne Menard, Jeff Mouton, Steven Thibodeaux, Harold Thibodeaux, and Dominic Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephew, Harry Thibodeaux, and his grandchildren, David, Christopher, Sarah, Jesse, Joseph, Jonathan and Dwight Thibodeaux, Kent and Keith Benoit, Mark Mouton, Annette Guidry, and Katie Guilliotte.
