Adele Girourard

Funeral Services will be held at a 1:30 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church for Adele Girouard, 98, who passed away on March 15, 2009 at her residence. Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Con-Celebrants of the Mass will be Associate Pastors of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Reverend Peter Emusa and Reverend Keith Landry. Entombment will take place in The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Mausoleum. Mrs. Girouard, a resident of Broussard, LA, was the daughter of the late Guillaume Bernard of Broussard, LA and the former Clara of Broussard, LA. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was the last surviving granddaughter of Valsin Broussard, founder of the city of Broussard. She taught religion at Sacred Heart of Jesus and worked at the Church Fair for many years. She also belonged to the Lady's Altar Society. The Family sends a special thanks to Dr. Cole and his staff. She is survived by her three daughters, Jacqueline Hollier and husband Harold of Broussard, LA, Emma Lee Hollier and husband Raymond of Broussard, LA and Elizabeth Babineaux and husband Glenn of Broussard, LA; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Girouard; seven sisters and two brothers. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 8:30 pm Tuesday and will reopen at 8:00 am until Service Time on Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Tuesday, and another on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Delhomme Funeral Home of Broussard. Pallbearers will be Chris Fruge, Shannon Badeaux, Eric Hollier, Hal Hollier, Dennis Lee Hollier and Keith Hollier. Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Hollier.
