A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church - Scott for Barbara Barras Troglen, 89, who passed away on July 25, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Reverend Gil Dutel will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to her family and cherished every moment spent with them. A passionate angler, she found immense joy in fishing alongside her husband, creating countless memories on the water. Her love for family was evident in the time she spent with her grandchildren, always eager to share stories, laughter, and love. After a fulfilling career, she retired from her position with the city, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends, as she delighted in cooking and ensured that anyone who stopped by was welcomed with a warm meal and a generous heart. Her deep Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She lived by her sacraments and instilled those values in her family, demonstrating the importance of love, compassion, and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering spirit and the joy she brought to everyone around her. Barbara, a resident of New Iberia, was the daughter of the late Raleigh Barras and the former Rose Lanclos. She is survived by her children, Brent Troglen and fiancé, Debbie, Trudy Daugereau and husband, Tim, Mona Blanco and husband, Calvin, and David and Sondra Troglen; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Barras Lout; brothers-in-law, Warren and Jimmy Renfroe; the Hanks children, her favorite cousin, Joanne Angelle and her companion Randall Boudreaux (Rambo). She was preceded in death by parents; husband, John Allen Troglen; granddaughter, Megan Troglen, and siblings, Patsy Nepveu and Shirley Hollier, and her best friends, Doyle Nelson and Martin and Dottie Hanks. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Brent Troglen, Maddox Suire, Tim Daugereau, Brandon Carline, Jacque Daugereau, Toby Cormier, Andre Cormier, and Calvin Blanco. Honorary Pallbearers are Norwood Hollier, Caiden Carline, Bayson Carline, Colyn Daugereau, Parker Cormier, Shane Suire, Thomas Clavier, Eli Clavier, Luke Clavier and Tristan Daugereau.
