Brenda Ann Morvant

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott for Brenda Ann Morvant, 63, who passed away on October 24, 2012. Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Ms. Morvant, a resident of Duson, LA, was the daughter of the late Morris Mitchell Morvant, Sr. of Charenton, Louisiana and the former Laura Belle LeBlanc of Delcambre, Louisiana. Brenda was a very proud and loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, clean house, and work in her yard. She was a hard worker who would work long hours at multiple jobs. She was a very friendly and approachable cashier at both Walgreens and Albertsons. She is sure to be remembered by the friendships she formed with her customers and coworkers. Brenda was very strong willed and a diligent fighter for life. She was a cancer survivor and attended the Relay for Life. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle J. Venable and husband Darrin; her son, Chris Jacques and Tracy Abercrombie; her daughter, Liz Collins; her grandchildren, Tyler Collins, Taylor Collins, Kori Leger, Madison Jacques; her great grandson, Tucker Collins; her sisters, Arleen Picard, Joyce Simon and her husband John,Sr., Mary Dronette and husband Gene; her brother, Bobby Morvant; several nieces and nephews, and one niece that was raised with the family, Stephanie Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Mitchell Morvant, Sr. and Laura Belle LeBlanc Morvant, and her brothers; Billy, Morris, and Raymond Morvant. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from Sunday 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be prayed Sunday at 7:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Chris Jacques, Kevin Dronette, Johnny & Mike Simon, Tyler Collins, Darrin Venable, and James Jacques. The family would like to thank all of their friends and family for their prayers and support throughout this most difficult time in their lives. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Matt and the staff at Magnolia Estates as well as Hospice of Acadiana.
