Carole A Boudreaux

Carole Ann Wichterich Boudreaux, 77, of Lafayette, Louisiana passed away on May 16, 2013. Daughter of the late Albert and Anna Katherine Wichterich, Carole was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 23, 1936. She graduated from Dominican High School and became a resident of Lafayette in 1962 where she raised her eight children. In 1993, Carole celebrated her college graduation from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her passion was giving to others, and she did this through volunteering her time whenever possible. She volunteered her time to Meals On Wheels through the Lafayette Council on Aging, The Affiliated Blind of Acadiana, participated in mission trips to Mexico and Russia through the United Methodist Church, supported and gave her time with the Kairos Prison Ministry, served as an usher during performances at the Heymann Performance Arts Center, was a member of Chorale Acadienne, The Lafayette Garden Club and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Carole also served as District Officer of the United Methodist Women as President from 2006-2009. As a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Carole served in many others areas of prayer and leadership. She was also a member of the Cursillo Community. Carole is survived by two brothers, Albert Wichterich and his wife Kathy of Houston, TX and Warren Wichterich and his wife Janis, of Harahan, LA and her eight children and their spouses: Jim Boudreaux, Jr. of Carencro, Kathy and her husband James Ardoin of Lafayette, Paul Boudreaux and his wife Paula of Plano, TX, Edwin Boudreaux and his wife Shannon of Denver, CO, Mark Boudreaux of Youngsville, Bob Boudreaux and his wife Jennifer of Mandeville, Yvonne and her husband Max Winchell of Youngsville and Rick Boudreaux of Lafayette. Carole leaves behind ten grandchildren: John, Abby and Joe Boudreaux of Plano, TX; Allison, Nicholas, Christopher, Kaitlyn and Andrew Boudreaux of Lafayette, Ashley Hunt of Arlington VA, Dean and Anna Jayne Boudreaux of Mandeville, and Ian and Jack Winchell of Youngsville. Always with a smile on her face, Carole has left her family and friends with many memories of laughter, dancing and singing. Her legacy of love, sharing, gratitude and kindness will live on forever in our hearts. Services to celebrate the life of Carole will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Asbury Methodist Church, 101 Live Oak Blvd., Lafayette, LA. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm with the memorial service held at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation made to Asbury United Methodist Church, with the memo line stating:"In Memory of Carole A. Boudreaux".
