Carrie Thompson Soileau

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, October 30, 2023 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Carrie Thompson Soileau, 84, who passed away on October 24, 2023. Fr. Steve LeBlanc will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum. Mrs. Carrie, a resident of Scott, was the daughter of the late Littell Thompson and the former Hilda Berzas. Known affectionately to her family and loved ones by many endearments that included ta-taunte, nanny, maw-maw and catán, she was loved by all. She was born in Mamou and raised in Vidrine, Louisiana and from a young age learned the value of hard work that carried throughout all aspects of her adult life. She married the love of her life Don Soileau at 21, and together they built a beautiful life with three children and two grandchildren. She cherished above all else her family and loved them with everything she had. Carrie and Don were married for 63 incredible years. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and many fun trips to the casino with Don and her sister Barbara. She never missed her daytime soaps, and cherished her beloved poodle Daisy. She was a generous soul with her time and care for everyone with a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Donald J. Soileau; daughter, Rachel Soileau Davis (Paul); sons, Blake Soileau and Chad Soileau; grandchildren, Brock Davis and Peyton Davis; sisters, Jackie Thompson Duos and Barbara Thompson Vidrine (Dana); goddaughter/niece, Ashley Vidrine Lancon (Kevin); and niece, Robin Vidrine Tabb (Ryan). She was preceded in death by her parents, Littell and Hilda Thompson; and brother-in-law, Robert Duos. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Scott on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Cliff Tanner, and his wife Jo Ann, at 5:00 PM on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Monday, October 30, 2023 beginning at 9:00 AM. The Eulogy will be given by Ashley Vidrine Lancon at 12:20 PM Monday afternoon in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Blake Soileau, Chad Soileau, Brock Davis, Paul Davis, Ryan Tabb, and Kevin Lancon. Honorary pallbearer will be Dana Vidrine.
