Christopher Grant Stevens

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott for Christopher Grant Stevens, 42, who passed away on December 29, 2009 at 9:43 am at his residence. Reverend David Eaton, Pastor of Faith Baptist Church, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Chris, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of Victor Grant Stevens of Knoxville, Tennessee and the former Ruby Brown of Lenoir, North Carolina. He was a Auxiliary Police Officer for the City of Scott for eight years. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly "they were his world". Chris was a very outgoing person always with a smile who never met a stranger and would always help anyone in need. He loved the outdoors especially hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and cousin he will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He is survived by wife, Verna Kidder Stevens of Scott; two daughters, Ashley Stevens and fiance Kevin Cormier of Cecilia, and Krista Stevens and fiance Aaron Bonin of Scott; one son, Jeremy Stevens of Scott;and daughter-in-law, Brittani Aucoin; three grandchildren, Landon Stevens, Falayn Cormier, and Jaylee Bonin; one brother, Jason Womack of Waco, TX; two sisters, Rhonda Stevens of Waco, TX, and Brande Stevens of Charlotte, NC; his mother, Ruby Womack and her husband Bobby of Statesville, NC; and his father, Vic Stevens of Scott; Mother and Father-in-law, Sandra and John Kidder of Scott; sister-in-law, Vickie Kidder of Hineston, LA; dear friend, Daniel Trahan of Lafayette; godchildren, Hunter Guilbeau, Tyson Trahan, Brennon Trahan, and Tyler Miller; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Taft Brown and Flora Brown; one nephew, Benjamin James Winn, and his grandmother-in-law, Rose Mae Domingue Girouard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until time of services at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott. Pallbearers will be Vic Stevens, Jeremy Stevens, Bobby Womack, Jason Womack, Kevin Cormier, and Daniel Trahan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon Stevens, Aaron Bonin, James Romero, Dustin Thibodeaux, Marcus Guilbeau, Bryce Bernard, and Andre Brooks.
