Cornelia T. Bienvenu

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Cornelia Bienvenu, 91, who passed away on February 16, 2011 at 1:10 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Noah Langley will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery. Mrs. Bienvenu, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Elisha Tolbert of Dyer, Louisiana and the former Dora Neale of Hinston, Louisiana. Mrs. Bienvenu known as Mama "B" to family and Ms. "B" to friends, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a native of Glenmora, resided in St. Martinville, and was a resident of Lafayette at the time of her passing. She was a retired Civil Service Employee and served as Librarian for Saint Martin Academy where she was much loved by the students. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Billy Wayne (Ginny) Bagby, Mrs. Floyd (Joy) Sellers and Mrs. Mike (Cathy) Sonnier; seven grandchildren, Steven Chevalier, Mrs. Mike (Carolyn) Hagen, Ms. Rima Sellers Duhon, Robert and Susan Sellers and Steven and Rachael Sonnier; six great grandchildren, Jennifer and Joseph Walters, Christopher Sellers, Lauren and Robert Sellers II and Caiden Goulas; four great-great grandchildren, Tristian Gooden and Morgan, Sydni and Avery Sellers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Devince Bienvenu, one son Glenn F. Willis, two sisters Mrs. Carrie Nettles and Mrs. Cora Bonnet; one brother, Mr. Carl Tolbert and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Tolbert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time. Pallbearers will be Steven Chevalier, Robert Sellers, Christopher Sellers, Mike Sonnier, Steven Sonnier and Billy Wayne Bagby. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Lafayette General Medical Center as well as the staff at Hospice of Acadiana for their wonderful kind and loving care given to Mrs. Bienvenu during her time of need.
