Dudley "Elvis" Morgan

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Delhomme Funeral Home - Broussard for Dudley "Elvis" Morgan, 84, who passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his family. Lane Nelson, Pastor of Christian Life Center will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart of Jesus Mausoleum - Broussard, LA. Mr. Morgan, a long-time resident of Broussard, was the son of the late Moses L. Morgan, Sr. and the former Lorance Legnion. A man with a big personality, he never met a stranger. Dudley was an avid football fan, especially the Saints and LSU. He loved fishing, hunting and dancing to French and Cajun music. Dudley enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, complete with live music in the front yard performed by family and friends! He was self-employed in the Oil & Gas Trucking Industry for many years. Upon retiring, Dudley served in the Broussard Police Auxiliary for several years and then worked for Marine Security. Above all, he will be cherished and missed by all those who knew him, family and friends alike. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucille G. Morgan; sons, Darren J. Morgan (Gwen), Thad M. Morgan and Dean H. P. Morgan (Marjorie); 8 grandchildren, Kristy M. Stelly (Tommy), Jamie M. Vaughn (Dethan), Lance Morgan (Amber), Blake Morgan (Amber), Matthew Morgan (Danielle), Jett Morgan, Vanz Morgan and Stylz Morgan; 2 step-grandchildren, Jennifer Romero (Josh) and Jeremy Chauvin; 14 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Blaise, Kara, Sadie, Ella, Nora, Finley, Aubrey, Presley, Jax, Brook, Blaise, Jasper and 1 great-grandson, on-the-way; 1 great-great granddaughter, Adelynn Kade; and brother, Moses L. Morgan, Jr (Betty). He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Lorance Morgan; brothers, Sidney, Roy, Bill and Wilman Morgan; and sister, Rose M. Miller. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Broussard on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Pallbearers will be Darren Morgan, Thad Morgan, Dean Morgan, Lance Morgan, Blake Morgan and Matthew Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Vanz Morgan and Christopher LeBlanc. The family would like to thank the staff of Bridgeway Hospice, especially nurses, Stacey, Jill and Crystal, for the compassionate care given to him during his final days.
