Easton Faul

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mr. Easton Joseph Faul, 93, who passed peacefully with his family at 6:00am on May 14, 2017 to join his Lord and wife Rena. Rev. Steve Leblanc, Pastor of St. Pius Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mr. Easton, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Sidney Faul and the former Emma Prejean of Carencro, La. Easton grew up in the Carencro area with his close knit family of 9 siblings whom he loved so dear. He attended Carencro High School. He served in WWII in the US Navy aboard the USS Beaumont as a Seaman First Class in 1944 stationed in Hawaii. He then married his wife Rena Lyons in 1947 and later raised three children. He started at Coburn's Supply Company in 1948 and served his dear "Coburn Family" for 39 faithful years as showroom manager until his retirement. He immensely enjoyed those years with his co-workers and customers. Easton had a passion for baseball, traveling, reading, word search puzzles, and desserts and sweets of any and every kind. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and met one of his favorite pitchers Ron Guidry, who became a Coburn customer of his. During their years together, Easton and Rena traveled the entire U.S., Canada, Hawaii, and Alaska often with family and their best friends in tow. His weekly routine included Mass, exercise at the Rosehouse, serving lunch to the homeless at St. Joseph's Diner, going to the library to check out and read every book ever printed and going through the drive thru at McDonald's and Checkers for his favorite hamburgers and fries. He visited countless elders, friends and family at their homes, hospitals and nursing homes. His most cherished times later were with his grandkids, Alex and Mattie. He always had one of them at home or in the back seat running errands. He could never tell them no! He savored every minute with them and they truly melted his heart. Easton had the biggest, kindest, gentlest and most compassionate heart. He put everyone else first, helping countless family, friends, even strangers and never complained about anything. He would give you the shirt off his back and his last dollar. He did everything with a smile, telling stories and a joke or two and never could keep a secret! His purpose was to love and serve the Lord and he did it well. He lived the absolute Christian life. His signature blue eyes and big smile are etched in our hearts forever of the dear, sweet, selfless man he was. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Faul Marks and husband, Craig; his son, Joseph Terry Faul; his daughter-in-law, Beth Blondeau; his grandchildren, Mathile "Mattie" Marks and Donald "Alex" Faul; his sisters, Annabel Comeaux and Velma Faul and his brothers, Leroy Faul and James Faul. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 70 years, Rena Lyons Faul; his eldest son, Donald Cedric Faul; his brothers, Ivy, Honore' and Austin Faul and his sisters, Eva Billeaud and Agnes Stout. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm on Wednesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be family and friends of Mr. Faul. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Faul and James Faul. The family would like to thank all visitors who brought gifts and his favorite sweets of any and every kind. We also would like to thank the entire staff of Cedar Crest Assisted Living for their special care the last year and to Heart of Hospice for their care in making sure he was comfortable.
