Edward James Dauterive

Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Edward James Dauterive, 79, who passed away on July 9, 2011 at 5:30 am at his residence. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Dauterive, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Milton Dauterive of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and the former Hilda Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana. Mr. Dauterive was a native of Breaux Bridge, LA and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Lafayette Association of Petroleum Landmen, and was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame in connection with his oil and gas career. He was a friend to all with a very kind heart. He is survived by His loving wife of 56 years Barbara DeJean Dauterive; two children, daughter Pamela Dauterive Gibaut of Houston, TX and son, Randal Dauterive and wife Paula Boudreaux Dauterive of Lafayette; one sister, Lola Dauterive McFaul of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Jessica Anne Dauterive, Ian Philip Gibaut, Molly Marie Dauterive and Claire Elizabeth Gibaut. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Lisa Gay Dauterive; parents, Milton and Hilda Broussard Dauterive; sisters, Lucille Dauterive Campbell and Shirley Dauterive Angelle. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of services. A reception will follow graveside burial at Delhomme Reception Hall. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his care givers Mary Williams and Candice Petlodin and Richard Williams.
