Eve L. Duhon

Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 3, 2010 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Eve Duhon, 93, who passed away on April 29, 2010 at 7:07 pm at The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Eve, the daughter of Ambrouse and Coliste Hebert LeBlanc, was born on February 6, 1917 in Maurice, Louisiana. She is a woman of faith and her God was at the center of her life. She was an active parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul in Scott, Louisiana. She worked for Abdallas for many years and retired as a seamstress from Sears. She then became a homemaker and lovingly took care of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love was gardening and cooking and loving her family especially the grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She is survived by her two children, Helen Duhon Funk and her husband Richard Funk, Harvey Duhon and his wife Laura Boutte Duhon, all of Lafayette; one sister Gladys LeBlanc Clark and her family of Lafayette; two brothers, Haywood LeBlanc and his wife Jane Duhon LeBlanc of Maurice and Harold Leblanc and his wife Shirley LeBlanc of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Rickey Duhon and his wife Debbie Duhon, Wanda May and her husband Vernon May, Scotty Duhon and his wife Jennifer Duhon, Sheila Guilbeaux and her husband Keith Guilbeaux, Richard Funk Jr. and his wife Kara Funk; thirteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kaliste Duhon; one sister, Blackie LeBlanc Guidry; four brothers, Melvin LeBlanc, Dalton LeBlanc, Lloyd LeBlanc, and Aldes "TT" LeBlanc; one nephew, Phil Langlinais. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until service time. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Art Bakeler on Sunday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rickey Duhon, Scotty Duhon, Michael Duhon, Jeremy Langlinais, Dustin Chachere, and Joe Fortier.
