God took you in his loving arms He saw you needed rest His garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best We will miss you dearly but you will always be in our hearts'we love you so much, Johnny and Will, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren! The beauty shop, burgers from Dwyer's Caf', lunch at the Petroleum Club, bingo at Oakbourne, fashion, Abdalla's, the camp in Butte La Rose, the camp in Toledo Bend, elegance, patience, and family'. these are all words that make us think of our Grandmother. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend. She was a walking piece of history ' she grew up during the Great Depression, fell in love and was married at a very young age. She raised her children during the civil rights movement, and Vietnam War Era. She lived in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana spending the majority of her life in Broussard, Louisiana with her husband, Cyril Hinds to whom she was married to for over 70 years. After he died 8 years ago, a piece of grandmother died as well even though she wanted to still think of all of his stubborn ways. She had two sons with our Grandfather, Will and Johnny that were so special and very near to her heart. She lived life to the fullest! Her thirst for adventure and love of different cultures led her and granddaddy to travel all over the world. Oh the stories she could tell about travelling with 'Cyril', there was always extra excitement and some wild addition to each trip they took. She was traditional, elegant, modern, calm, passionate, social, yet finding the best fishing hole, catching a boat full of bass and sac-a-lait was her favorite past time in life and of course always to end the day with a big fish fry with all of her family right there with her. There are so many great memories with our grandmother that we shared through the years, we would need a couple of pages just to hit the highlights of some of those. She was the best grandmother, mom and wife and to follow in her footsteps will be a huge challenge for all of us. Grandmother, I know you have left this earthly life and we are so saddened to let you go but I know you are in our Fathers arms now and in the greatest place which is our eternal home, heaven. Until we see you again, you will live on through your children and grandchildren as we strive to continue your legacy that you left with us. You are now with your parents, with moma (granny sue), granddaddy and the babies we lost and how happy I know you are to be reunited with your loved ones at last forever and ever. We love you grandmother and mom forever and ever. You were and always will be the best grandmother and mom anyone could ask for! The entire Hinds family would like to thank the amazing, caring, compassionate and wonderful sitters that cared for our mom and grandmother for the last few years, we know she felt your love and compassion every day and words are not enough to tell you how much we appreciate all that you did for her. We love you and you will always be part of our family! We would also like to thank Hospice nurses and staff that were involved with her care and Pastor Bobby Richard for giving of his time so willingly, getting to know grandmother and visiting with her like he did. Again, to each and every one of you we sincerely appreciate all that you did! Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Helen Loise Hinds, 93, who passed away on December 29, 2011 at 3:15AM at her residence. Pastor Bobby Richard conducted the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hinds was the daughter of the late Henry Anderson of Foreman, Arkansas and the former Lois Delberts of Foreman, Arkansas. She is survived by two sons, Johnny Hinds and his children, Shane Hinds, Shannon Menard and Shawnette Broussard; son Will Hinds and his children, Cindy Hinds Price, Cy Hinds, Cassandra Hinds Reed, Windy Hinds Hanks, Christine Hinds LeBlanc and Danyelle Hinds Dupre and a host of great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Hinds; her parents; daughter in law, Sue Hinds and three grandchildren, Cyril Wayne Hinds, Heather Anne Hinds and Charmain Hinds. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
