J. Curtis "Fats" Trahan

A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice for James Curtis "Fats" Trahan, 86, who passed away on September 28, 2024. Deacon Keith Duhon, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church - Coteau, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Broussard Family Cemetery off Woodlawn Road in Maurice, LA. Curtis, a lifelong resident of Maurice, was the son of the late Onezime Trahan and the former Edmay Whittington. A hard worker all of his life, "Fats" spent many years working for Guy Scroggins Construction Company. His favorite past time was riding around, spending time with his friends drinking coffee, and listening to his "French" music. Curtis was very proud of his grandchildren, especially his great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by us all. He is survived by his children, Lisa Trahan Landry (Kevin) and Norris "Harry" Trahan (Tessa); grandchildren, Tyler Landry (Emily), Bryce Landry (Kate Brasseux), and Brooke Trahan Lemaire (Barrett); great-grandchildren, Wren, Evie, Wyatt, Jolie, Alexis, and Cooper; sisters, Marie Louise Hebert and Betty Grace Alleman (Louis); and brother, George Trahan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Gladys Broussard Trahan; parents, Onezime and Edmay Trahan; sisters, Hilda Mae Trahan Richard and Genevieve Trahan Albarado; brothers, Murphy Trahan, John Trahan, Ronald Trahan, and Merlin Trahan; and godson, Kenneth Richard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Maurice on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Monday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Norris Trahan, Kevin Landry, Tyler Landry, Bryce Landry, Barrett Lemaire, and Brian Richard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Trahan, Wyatt Guidry, and Wren Landry.
