“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” Author Unknown Funeral Services for Janelle Lormand will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville, LA. Janelle passed into that gentile night much as she lived. With a flare and zest for life unparalled. Born as the youngest child of Cajun sharecroppers in Rayne Louisiana, she was favored by her Father and her brothers and sisters. This began the journey of many years of family good times and laughter. She was a unique person who could make the world laugh in the saddest of times. Daughter, sister, aunt, nanny wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, lover whatever the role she played she brought a zest for life. While many different memories float through our minds the one common thread is her desire for the happiness of those she loved. Janelle was a graduate of Scott Sr. High. Her vocation was a life dedicated navigating life’s difficult waters for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Her accomplishments in making those laugh and enjoy life are too many to count. Janelle was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maurice and Louise B. Roy; husband, Louis Thibodeaux; husband and best friend, Elbery P. “Bob” Lormand, daughter who left way too soon, Pamela Angel Thibodeaux; grandson, Heath Trahan; brother and friend, Joseph L.J. Roy; brother and friend, Calvin “Pee Wee” Roy; sister and Confidant, Quby Roy Hoffpauir, sister and friend, Hilda Bertrand Robin and niece, Connie Roy. Janelle is survived by her son and the cause of much happiness, Byron Thibodeaux; daughter and the reason for even more happiness, Donna Thibodeaux; son who loved to hear her laughter who was also the baby, Billy Roy and her brother and partner in crime, Kirt Roy. She was also survived by her daughter-in-laws, Myra Bartell and husband Byron, Berna Broussard and Donna, Rachel Lapresti and husband Billy and sister-in-law, Marcel Roy and husband Kirt; grandchildren, Connie Thibodeaux, Zachary Deshotels, Chris Melancon, Damion Thibodeaux, Shay Thibodeaux, Ean Thibodeaux, Blake Thibodeaux, Heather Garcia, Amber Trahan and Caleb Snell; great grandchildren, Shaun Decuir, Haylee Thibodeaux, Jordan Leblanc, Mason Leblanc, Trent Leblanc, Jayden Venable, Landon Deshotel, Gage Deshotel, Ridge Anderson and Keisley Snell. Pallbearers will be Zachary Deshotel, Ean Thibodeaux, Yates Cooper, Blake Thibodeaux, Robbie Anderson and Anthony Broussard. The family request that visitation be observed on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 2:00 PM until time of service on Monday, November 30, 2015. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Many years of beloved friends too numerous to mention. Thank you to Hospice of Acadiana for their support.
