Lisa LeBlanc Boudreaux

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lisa Catherine LeBlanc Boudreaux, 69, who passed away on July 16, 2024. Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will officiate the funeral. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Boudreaux, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Dale Paul LeBlanc and Dotsie Mae Langlinais. Born and raised in Lafayette, Lisa graduated from Lafayette High School in 1972, attended USL, then lived in Brazil with her aunt and cousin for a year before returning home, working at USL and her mother’s art gallery, and meeting then marrying the love of her life, Chuck. Lisa enjoyed working as a faux finisher for over twenty years; was an avid gardener and Master Gardener; a founder, charter member, board member and the twentieth Queen of the Krewe of Xanadu; member of Lafayette Parish Bar Association Auxiliary, and a Parishioner of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. But her favorite job was Mom, and she often said that her best years were the busy ones spent raising her children. Besides being a Mom who was “nice but firm” – she was a room mother extraordinaire for each of her three children, band mom, speech and debate judge, study buddy, cheerleader for all her children’s activities and endeavors, and confidante. Lisa was a natural caregiver. She was always thinking of others and anticipating their needs. When her kids visited as adults, she would often have a “little something” for them. “Nothing big,” she would say, “I just saw it and thought of you.” Others often received the same “little somethings.” Her next joy was being a Grandma to her two sweet girls. Rocking them to sleep as babies, making fruit pizzas, taking two memorable Disney trips, too many treat runs to count, sleepovers, “Grandma’s sewing camp,” end of year swim parties with their friends, reading, playing word games, playing cards, heart-to-hearts while taking a ride, and spending time. She said the sweetest words she ever heard spoken were “hey babe” from Chuck, “Mom” from her kids, and “Grandma” from her two sweet girls. Lisa’s way of speaking truth with kindness was a trait appreciated by her friends and family, who would often seek her counsel for exactly that reason. She believed in saying what needed to be said, even if it was hard. She was nice, but firm; practical, but fun. When school friends, neighborhood kids, or bandmates came to her home, she became their other Mom. She is survived by her beloved spouse, best friend, and favorite guy Charles J. Boudreaux, Jr. (Chuck); her beloved children, daughters Stacey Boudreaux Grow and husband Terry; Leslie Boudreaux Tidwell and husband Jake; and son Charles J. Boudreaux, III (Trey). Her beloved granddaughters, Ada Parker Grow and Charlie Parker Grow; sister Jan L. Wicks and husband Rob; brother Victor LeBlanc; brother Steven LeBlanc and wife Belle. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Louella Lege Boudreaux, and her sisters in law, Paula B. Dauterive and husband Randy, and Pauline B. Garzotto. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and young neighborhood friends, all of whom she cherished. She was predeceased by parents, Dale P. LeBlanc and Dotsie Langlinais LeBlanc; sister Karen L. Domingue, brothers-in-law Gregory Domingue and Ivan Linus (Joey) Garzotto; her favorite father-in-law Charles J. Boudreaux, Sr. and niece Jennifer Julia Wicks. Her Xanadu Angels were a very special part of her life. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Monday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers are Trey Boudreaux, Ian Wicks, Tripp & Jeffrey Garzotto, Sam Domingue, Terry Grow, and Jake Tidwell. Honorary pallbearers are Steven LeBlanc, Victor LeBlanc, Rob Wicks, Randy Dauterive, Robbie Boudreaux, Miles & Sydney LeBlanc, and Carl Sonnier. Thanks to Dr. Steven Saccaro, Tracy, and the entire staff at the Ochsner Cancer Center. Special thanks go out to the infusion nurses who she said are “angels walking among us”. The family also wishes to thank Hospice and Palliative of Acadiana and Rosa Cormier for their loving care. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
