A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church for Mrs. Lisa Beth Jones, 51, who passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 4:13AM at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus surrounded by her loving family and friends. The family requests everyone wear pink in tribute to her favorite color. Fr. Bryce Sibley will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Jones will be cremated following the Mass. Mrs. Lisa, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of Terry Lambert and the former Gwynne Magnant. As a young woman, she and her family lived abroad. She graduated high school from the American School in Aberdeen, Scotland. Living in Aberdeen and traveling through Europe was one of the most special times of her life. After graduating from U.S.L. (now U.L.L.), Mrs. Lisa was an educator for numerous schools in the Acadiana area and was most recently a teacher at Comeaux High School for 20 years before her illness. She was the past president of the Louisiana High School Speech League and coached many speech and debate teams during her career. Mrs. Lisa was also a catechism teacher at St. Pius. She enjoyed traveling, attending musicals, and spending time at the beach, especially in RI where she was born and so loved. She would return there whenever she was able. Above all, the time spent with her children was her greatest joy in life. Mrs. Lisa was a loving and giving woman who never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, James Jones; children, Ashlyn Elizabeth Jones and Terry "Jamie" James Jones; parents, Terry and Gwynne Ann Lambert, Jack and Val Grills; sister, Lauri Grills-Sauer; 2 brothers, Terry Lambert Jr. and Conward Lee Lambert. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 12:00PM to 9:00PM. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home followed by a eulogy and tributes celebrating her life. Visiting hours will continue Friday from 8:00AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Terry Lambert Jr., Lee Lambert, Eric Lovlie, Billy Long, Mark Collazos and Scott Johnstone. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Ochsner Medical Center for all of their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations in Lisa's name may be made to the Comeaux High School Speech Department at 100 West Bluebird, Lafayette, LA 70508. Checks should be made payable to Comeaux High School with reference to the Speech Department documented on the memo line.
