Lloyd Joseph Bodin

Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Lloyd Joseph Bodin, 85, who passed away on September 19, 2009 at Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Reverend Gregory Simien, Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Leroy, LA. Mr. Bodin, a resident of Port Arthur, TX, was the son of the late Sidney Bodin of Erath, LA and the former Dulcide Menard of Erath, LA. Lloyd was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy. He worked 43 years with Gulf Oil as an operator at the Port Arthur Refinery. Lloyd loved his wife, Zoe, and their children, Carl, Phillip, Kay, and Timothy. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom he would always share a snack and a joke. He lived in Port Arthur but frequently visited Indian Bayou, LA, where he and Zoe enjoyed living in "the country". Lloyd loved to cook and watch the horse races and the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays. He enjoyed family and friends. Lloyd will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Zoe Hebert Bodin of Port Arthur, TX; one daughter, Kay McKee and her husband Jerry of Pagosa Springs, CO; three sons, Carl "Moose" Bodin and his wife Martha of Bridge City, TX, Phillip Bodin and his wife Janet of Port Arthur, TX, and Timothy Bodin of Port Arthur, TX; six grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; three sisters, Irene Granger and her husband John of Groves, TX, Jean Duhon and her husband Jimmy of Kaplan, LA, and Vernola Guilbeau and her husband Paul of Lafayette, LA; two brothers, Curtis Bodin of New Iberia, LA, and Nolan Bodin and his wife Phyllis of Covington, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Bodin and Hazel Dugas; two brothers, Harris Bodin and Harold Bodin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and reopen on Monday September 21, 2009 at 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice.
