Lloyd John Broussard

Funeral Services will be held at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Church for Lloyd John Broussard, 86, who passed away on January 3, 2012 at 2:15 PM at his residence. Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Broussard, a resident of Milton, LA, was the son of the late Jerome Broussard and the former Elodie Bourque both of Milton, Louisiana. He was a member and active supporter of the St. Joseph Community. Admired and well known to the community of Milton, Mr. Broussard worked as a plumber in his younger years. His love of the land inspired him in the direction of farming. He farmed soybean and wheat crops and later enjoyed cattle farming until he was 80 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Eunice Broussard; one son Carl James Broussard and wife Yvonne Alleman Broussard of Milton, LA; one sister Grace Broussard Delcambre; three brothers; Vernice, Clifford and Dalfred Broussard; two grandsons; Shawn D. Broussard and wife Danielle of Riverside, CA, Jonathon W. Broussard of Milton, LA and three great grandchildren Alyssa, Cade and Isaac Broussard. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dwight Paul Broussard, one sister Lucille Broussard Bourque, and one brother Wilfred Broussard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Maurice on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 11:00am until 9:00 pm and continue Friday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shawn Broussard, Jonathon Broussard, Todd Broussard, Scott Broussard, Stacey Albert and Glenn Bourque. Special thanks to Barbara Davidson, RN for loving and caring for him like he was her own grandfather and Teresa Sanderson for her joyful spirit and devotion in providing care to "Pops".
