Come follow me and I will give you rest.” A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church for Louise Theresa Dominique Molbert, 68, who passed away on August 26, 2024. Louise requested all attendees wear colorful attire in celebration of her life. Fr. Patrick Broussard, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Serving as concelebrants will be Fr. Louie Richard, Very Rev. Chester Arceneaux VF, and Fr. Seth Lemaire, JCL. Altar Server will be Brady Leblanc, with Fr. Brian Taylor in attendance. Lectors will be Shannon Giroir Head, Ryan Giroir, and Barrett J. Broussard Jr. Gift-bearers will be her beloved husband, daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Louise Theresa Dominique Molbert was born in Lafayette on January 10, 1956. She was the fifth of six daughters born to Edward and Elaine Dominique, who took great pride in their Lebanese heritage. Her parents’ home was always open to family and friends and was the epicenter of delicious food and holiday celebrations. Today, Louise and Pat’s home is that epicenter. From her parents and through her unbreakable and lifelong bond with her sisters, she learned the power of love and the value of family. Her many unforgettable adventures with her sisters, Charlotte, Linda, Liz, Maxine, and Veronica, and numerous cousins and friends, brought so much laughter and joy to all and will be forever remembered. Louise was a beacon of light, love, and joy. All that came within her glow were drawn to her quick wit, love of laughter, family, and faith. She was what God intended when He created beauty. She attended Hamilton Elementary, Lafayette Middle School, and graduated from Lafayette High School. In high school, Louise developed her love of theater and won numerous awards for her dramatic interpretations. Christmas at the Dominique’s was a showcase of family talent and Louise wowed everyone with her many theatrical and fun-filled performances. She took great pride in being a graduate of the School of Nursing at USL. This was the perfect profession for her. Her work mirrored her life of giving to others, of always putting the well-being of someone else before her own and providing comfort to all who needed it. Out of all her nursing roles, she took the most pride in her many years serving as the St. George Catholic School nurse and a Radiation Oncology nurse at Lafayette General. It was during college that she met a young, romantic engineer. They met at Judge Roy Bean’s but their first date was for breakfast at the Puddy Tat restaurant. After surviving being greeted at the door by her 6’2” father and a tribunal of aunts, Pat Molbert and Louise began dating. He proposed to her at a Chinese restaurant through a message in her fortune cookie, forever binding their love and bringing together their Lebanese and Cajun cultures. They married, and their romance thrived and lasted for 43 beautiful years. Pat loved and admired Louise, and they were each other’s true partners in life. Louise’s family was always at the center of her life. She was the mother and grandmother of every child’s dreams. Her daughters Natalie and Sarah, her wonderful son-in-law Barrett, and her “angel boys” and “angel girls” – Barrett, Louise, Elaine and Anthony – were her pride and joy and were the recipients of her beautiful, unconditional, and everlasting love. She was their teacher, playmate, confidant, biggest fan and most of all their source of love and joy. It was her life’s work to instill values of kindness, faith, and selflessness in her children. Louise reveled in her role as wife, mother and “Lollie” and no one did it better. Most of all, Louise was a woman of great faith. Her immeasurable strength came from her devotion to God, and throughout her life she served a higher purpose. When Louise began to endure health problems, she was not afraid. Her profound love of life and deep faith gave her the strength to walk courageously with God through long-lasting and painful challenges. Her faith that God would help her carry her cross brought her great peace and confidence in His promises. Very few knew the gravity of her illness and the difficulties she experienced for the last 13 years. It was her desire to never place a burden on others, but instead, to love and serve. To many, Louise represented true Christ-like values. Her faith was exemplified by her actions –through her kind smile, her unconditional care and acceptance of others, and her willingness to extend her love to everyone. Louise, “You shall see the face of God and live.” She is survived by her loving husband of 43 beautiful years, Patrick "Pat" Anthony Molbert; beloved daughters, Natalie Elaine Molbert Broussard (Barrett Sr.) and Sarah Elizabeth Molbert; cherished grandchildren, Barrett James Broussard, Jr., Louise Ann Broussard, Elaine Frances Broussard, and Anthony Noah Broussard; incredible sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Dominique, Maxine Dominique Voorhies (Michael), and Veronica Dominique Hamilton (Dwight); treasured godchildren, Ryan Giroir and John Paul Hamilton; and numerous wonderful nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elaine Dominique; sisters, Charlotte Dominique Giroir (Paul) and Linda Marie Dominique. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A presentation by the Louisiana Nurse Honor Guard will be given at 6:15 PM. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Friday evening in the funeral home, with eulogies immediately following.
