Margaret "Peggy" Ann Mielke

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Margaret “Peggy” Ann Mielke, 65, who passed away on October 24, 2025. Fr. Howard Blessing will conduct the funeral services. Peggy, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Edward George Mielke and the former Alice Kehoe. Even though our precious Peggy suffered from mental health issues, she was happy with the simple pleasures in life. While the rest of us may be complaining or feeling sorry for ourselves - Peggy’s outlook was: I have my radio, my Dr. Pepper & a bag of candy to share with my friends, what else can I need? Peggy found joy in sharing & making everyone around her feel special. She was very spiritual, and prayed for her family & friends often. She had beautiful penmanship & would always send a handwritten card on every birthday. She gave the biggest & best hugs. She enjoyed rocking on the porch & feeling the breeze. She was always outside enjoying nature -waving and conversing with anyone around her. She was never judgmental & loved everyone! We will miss her kindness, generosity, and love. She is survived by her siblings, Michael P. Mielke, Charles “Chuck” (Cathy) Mielke, and Christine “Chris” Mielke (Charles “Wes”) Franciol; nieces & nephews, Michael Mielke, Aaron Mielke, Adam Mielke, Jason Mielke, Brant (Courtney) Mielke, Natalia Mielke (Matt) Lee, Catherine Mielke (J.P.) Morrell, Kate (Ashley) Franciol, and Charles Wesley Franciol. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Alice Mielke. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 10:30 AM until the time of service. The family would like to thank Venetia McKay, her caregiver in Baton Rouge, for the exceptional loving attention and kindness given to their sister, Peggy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana and The Miles Perret Cancer Center, in memory of Peggy.
