Merline Latiolais

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at a 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, for Merline Guilbeaux Latiolais, 77, who passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in New Iberia. Entombment will be held in Sacred Heart of Jesus Mausoleum in Broussard. Reverend Edward Degeyter will be Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Merline was a native of Cade and a resident of New Iberia. She loved fishing, sports, especially boxing and baseball, going to the casino and playing pokeno and cards with her friends and family. She loved all of her friends at cardiac rehab and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which were the joys of her life. Merline will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jerry Latiolais; eight children, Richard LaCroix and his wife Peggy, Toni LaCroix St. Upery and her husband Ricky, Keith "Ponookie" LaCroix and his companion Robin Broussard, Tina Paredes, Gwen "Bae" Lasseigne, Lisa Dozier and her husband Charles, David Latiolais and his wife Diane and Melanie Griffin and her husband Matt; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and eight siblings, Joel Guilbeaux and his wife Deanna, Elaine Cuccio, Julia Gachassin, Lazaire Guilbeaux and his wife Kathi, Willard "Bee Bee" Guilbeaux and his wife Linda, Sandra "Poochie" Richard and her husband Mac, Gordy "Pete" Guilbeaux and his wife Gwen and Gary "Bupsy" Guilbeaux. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordy and Beulah Dubois Guilbeaux and two brothers, Ivan and Carroll Guilbeaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home in Broussard from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Richard LaCroix, Keith "Ponookie" LaCroix, Willard "Bee Bee" Guilbeaux, Gordy "Pete" Guilbeaux, Gary "Bupsy" Guilbeaux and Ricky St. Upery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joel Guilbeaux, Lazaire Guilbeaux, Dewey Latiolais, Ronald Latiolais, Melvin Latiolais and Mac Richard.
