Patricia Abboud Arceneaux

Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Patricia Abboud Arceneaux, 67, who passed away on March 4, 2009 at 2:00PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. Father Howard Blessing will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Arceneaux, a life-long resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Jimmy James Abboud, Sr. of Lafayette, LA and the former Sadie Farris of Lake Charles, LA. She is survived by her mother, Sadie Farris Abboud; two daughters, Angelle Arceneaux Perret and her husband Philip and Leah Arceneaux; one son, Ted Davis Arceneaux, and partner Minas Roros; four grandchildren, Steven, Andre, Sydney, and Jacob; one sister, Selma Pepiton and her husband Phillip Maxwell; one brother, Jimmy James Abboud, Jr.; her nieces, Kelli Abboud Wimberley and husband Keith, and Monica Arceneaux Cullen and husband Michael; her nephews, Blake Abboud and wife Melanie, Peter Pepiton and wife Amy, and Paul Pepiton and wife Christina, Mitch Matthieu, Mike Matthieu and wife Brandy, and Buddy Arceneaux. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Linda Matthieu and husband Roy, and brother-in-law, Frank Arceneaux and wife 'Butchie'; as well as many aunts, cousins, great nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy James Abboud, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Marcy Carriere Abboud and brother-in-law, Benny R. Pepiton and aunt Esther "Wadette" Abboud and other aunts and uncles. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, March 6, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services at the Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Blake Abboud, Peter Pepiton, Paul Pepiton, Philip Perret, Minas Roros, Mike Matthieu, and Michael Norse. Honorary pallbearers include Philip Norse, Jr., Phillip Maxwell, David Abboud, Jr., Tommy Abboud, Donald Abboud, Richard Abboud, and Danny Abboud. Pat was a retired elementary school teacher who taught for 32 years in Lafayette Parish. After retirement, she continued to be a substitute teacher, as well as a reading tutor at Woodvale Elementary. Pat was also a Eucharistic minister and member of St. Patrick's Church, and belonged to the St. Rita Rosary group which consisted of a close group of her friends, whom she loved dearly. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Gene Brierre and the staff at LA Oncology for the 15 years of exceptional care and support. We would also like to thank Dr. Andy Blalock and staff, especially Holly, as well as FMC Dialysis-West for the extreme kindness and excellent care that was consistently provided through the past few years. In addition, we greatly appreciate the recent care provided by Dr. Mike Mounir, Dr. Daniel Dunlap and staff as well as the staff of OLOL 6th floor, LGMC - ICU and LTAC of Acadiana. We always felt that she was truly loved and well cared for by all. Special thanks to Carleen Doucet and Amber Klark for their love, support and devoted friendship. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. It was ultimately her faith that sustained her through all of her trials and tribulations, as well as her extreme devotion to the Blessed Mother.
